Who we are...
January 23, 2021

Heaven's Road is a group dedicated to sharing the testimony of Jesus Christ with others that do not know Him. We want to pray and help those in need within our community and around the world for God's glory and not of our own. We are simply servants of almighty God, our heavenly Father who loves us so much that He sent His own Son to die on the cross for our sins. This is a new group that I felt led by God to create and looking for some brothers or sisters in Christ to help manage or coordinate this group as a way in fellowship with each other. May God receive all glory, honor and praise for this work.

Testimony of Faith from our dear sister, Teresa J. Crowley

April 10, 2021

So it has been a rough week. I was in the ER not once but twice! Is that how a person starts a testimony?

From the time I was young, I had a yearning to know more of God. I may not have known the intricacies of Him, but there was something that physically drew me to Him. My maternal grandmother died of lung cancer when I was 5 years old. It affected me deeply because I was her nurse attending her bedside as she lay dying. There was nothing that could be done.

At 5 years old, I made a vow that if I ever got cancer, I would not fight, I would not treat, I would just live and die. Doctors were no friends of grandma Grace.

My mom had sent my older sister and I to Sunday school and church in the very early years with a neighbor despite objections from our dad.

Fast forward to high school, at the loss of my grandpa. I was terrified. What would happen to him? Leave him in the ground?? I wandered away from the funeral home. I was a freshman in high school. I landed on the steps of a local Methodist church. I sat there and there, I found some answers.

Then along came my high school best friend that introduced me to Jesus my savior. Thank God for her. We attended church and I learned the basics.

My first critical illness struck at the age of 19. I was diagnosed with a severe case of mononucleosis that lasted in excess of 8 months. Increased bilirubin and chronic fatigue never resolved.

Doctors spent the better part of 20 years testing and eliminating one chronic condition after another.

I was married at the age of 20 to my first love. He cheated, fettered away our money, became verbally and physically intimidating before he left in our second year of marriage. To be forthright, in my very limited bible knowledge, at this point, I thought I was destined to be alone or damned as an adulterous woman because my husband divorced me.

By this time it was apparent that I was barren. It was confirmed in 2004 when a life threatening hemorrhage identified birth defects in my reproductive system and the presence of an autoimmune stem cell cancer that affected 1 in 3 million persons at the time. I was in a relationship at the time. We decided to marry and that union brought into my life 3 children, two of which would be raised knowing me as mom in our home.

My treatment was precarious and lasted 7 years. It was only supposed to be 2. I spent those 7 years with my immune system completely wiped out. In 2010, I was able to wean off the anti rejection medication. My oncologist later revealed I was not expected to leave the hospital after my anti globulin chemotherapy treatments. 30 percent of my blood was being rejected at any one time.

The lifespan of a patient with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobin urea was 10 years at the maximum. That was 17 years ago. Let’s visit the miracle factor in this. Despite the fact that I have outlived the odds, PNH does not by any definition go into remission. For the past 2 years at my annual check in with my oncologist, he has classified me as “in remission!” Glory be to God! There is no other answer my friends. I never allowed death and the grave to be the focus of mental acumen. What I did do was understand that even when I could not pray for myself, I could rely on the prayer of family and friends to touch the ears of Jesus on my behalf.

2 Timothy 1:7 was my verse!

I could stop there but physical illness is quite common these days.

Those two children that God brought me. That was no coincidence. By design, those lives were meant to intersect with mine. The testimony continues.

Raising teenagers is hard. I don’t care who you are. Aaron and Ariel were craving a mother figure yet they were skeptical. One thing I did do on that wedding day in 2004, I set aside a special ceremony for the kids and I. I made a covenant relationship with them as well. As God is my witness, we have tested every fiber of that covenant, yet the bond is still as strong.

Though their father and I are no longer married, we co-parent Aaron our remaining child quite effectively.

Our daughter, along with our unborn granddaughter, was killed in an automobile wreck on March 30, 2013.

In June of 2016, my mom and I were hit head on by an impaired driver. As a result, I have chronic pain and damage to the right rotator cuff and the right hip.

Once again, birth defects thwart any possibility of correcting the hip by surgical means.

On July 19, 2018, my daughter-in-law brutally murdered our 5 year old granddaughter in front of our grandson who was 2 at the time.

On February 3, 2019, my mother-in-law was killed in a multiple vehicle accident.

I highlighted all of these incidents not for sympathy or shock value. I am telling you brother and sisters, the closer you move toward Jesus, the harder the devil is going to fight for your soul. I call it the, “Even now..?”

Even now will I praise Him? Even now will I love Him? Even know will I trust Him to be the Lord and Savior of my life?

To all of that I answer, “Yes, I can and I will!”

Satan, the devil is the author of lies. He came to steal, kill, and destroy. He stole my health, he killed my family, he tried to destroy my peace. But I am here to tell you, there is a new day dawning!

Though my health is questionable, he continues to bring healing and good news! The devil thought asthma and allergies would quiet my voice in praise and thanksgiving, but where I cannot shout, I will sing and use the power of my pen.

Where the devil struck my physical body, God gave me twofold of compassion for the lost and the lonesome.

Where the devil killed my family and left ashes on the ground, beauty will rise up and bring forth new life.

My testimony is very wordy and long, but the simplicity quite apparent.

I will praise Him on the hilltops, I will praise Him in the valleys just the same!

I am not going to sugarcoat anything. Life is hard. Being a Christian is hard. My definition lies in the relationship not the religion. It was only in 2017 when I started talking with God in prayer language. Let’s be real. Everyday, I am a sinner saved by Grace and Mercy. The relationship I have with the Father, that is what makes me ache to be more like Jesus. That ache is the Holy Spirit living inside of me nudging me to do better. Quite frankly friends, until the final curtain call, perfection is not ours. We only become perfected in death as we return to the Father. We are works in progress, still of the flesh until we depart. Don’t be too harsh with yourself or those around you. Be the great commission!!! Love one another!!!

Shalom

Mark’s message: A Birth and Preparation of Jesus, The Servant
Mark 9:42-50

Causing to Stumble

42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea. 43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. [44] 45 And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. [46] 47 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where

“‘the worms that eat them do not die,

and the fire is not quenched.’

49 Everyone will be salted with fire.

50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

Plan of Salvation: How to become a Child of God

Salvation through Our LORD, Jesus Christ

God, who is full of love, mercy and grace wanted to save you and me from our sins which is death. The penalty for our sins is total separation from God for eternity. God loves us so much, that He had a plan of salvation that would save not just you and me, but the entire world. There is only one road to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. God sent His only begotten Son to earth in form of God and man and He was sacrificed for us because Jesus took our sin debt for us, so that we could be set free from the bondage of sin and spend eternity with God. Jesus was beaten, cursed at, and a crown of thorns was placed on His head. He was nailed to a cross at a place called Calvary where he suffered, shed His blood and died for our sins, past, present and future sins for the entire world. That’s how much God loves you. It’s a free gift that God has given to us. All you have to do is accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and ask him to come into your heart and to forgive you of your sins. Jesus will work in your life and change your life that is full of joy, love and happiness. Yes, because we are saved does not mean that we’re perfect or that we won’t face troubles or illnesses in our lives. God uses certain situations to get our attention and to strengthen our faith and trust in Him. God has the best plan for our lives and trust me, it’s all worth it. To ask Jesus into your life, pray this simple prayer below and if you are sincere, then you will be saved and your name will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and will never be erased. God will send a helper, the Holy Spirit to help guide you on your new journey to heaven. So come and join the family of God!

To become a child of God, pray this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite you to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. If you sincerely asked Jesus into heart and life, welcome to the family, God’s family my brother and sister in Christ. We are so glad you are part of the family.

In Christ’s Love,

Heaven’s Road
